Tell us a little about you and your brand
Tillsworth came about after many years working in the industry and wanting to share my love of great quality fit and fabric in pieces that make women feel fabulous. My love of great quality and the ethic to buy less and love more was inspired by my mother, Granny and Aunts who all sewed and loved textiles and clothing.
Who or what inspires you?
Tillsworth was inspired by a photograph of Stella Tennant in a tuxedo shirt sleeves rolled up, worn with an open neck, so relaxed and stylish …I held onto this image since the 90’s and finally during lockdown created my version of this shirt and this fabulous relaxed feeling portrayed.
The Roseland in Cornwall and the colours there inspire me, “the blue of the sky enough to make a sailors shirt“ all transfer into ideas for Tillsworth. "Life is inspiring if you look up and look out" as Grace Coddington once said!!
Which other brands do you love?
In recent years I have not been buying clothes but using pieces I have bought and invested in often from Margaret Howell and they’re still going strong. I did “treat“ myself to the Flow runner Loewe trainers a couple of years ago and if I could I would have them in every colour….! I love them…… and if I had a magic wand a new jacket from Dior and a cashmere sweater from The Row would make me giggle with delight forever!
