The KAZA Sisal Shopper by The Basket Room is a striking two-tone basket, handwoven in rural eastern Kenya and dyed using 100% natural materials. Crafted from locally harvested sisal grass, each bag is made entirely by hand, from rolling the fibres to dyeing and weaving.

The lower half is coloured using charcoal crushed and boiled over an outdoor fire, while the darker upper section is dyed with chimney soot gathered from the weavers’ own homes, giving every basket its beautifully earthy character. Strong leather handles complete the look and make it perfect for everyday use.

Spacious and sturdy, the KAZA works just as well as a daily handbag as it does for shopping trips, gym days or overnight stays.

Yes - we love sending our community’s work out into the world! Please note that customs fees or import duties may apply depending on your country. These are the responsibility of the recipient. Most brands are currently not shipping to the US due to the changes in the customs charges as these are now paid at source. Please email at shop@thecuratedstore.co.uk to confirm before ordering.

Each maker/brand ships a little differently, but most orders arrive within 3–5 working days in the UK. You’ll receive dispatch emails and some brands offer a tracking link once your parcel is on its way.

We want you to love every piece you choose, but if something’s not quite right, you can return it within 14 days of delivery. Items must be unused, in original condition, and with tags intact.
