Rachel Movitz is the maker and creative force behind Etta Rain Ceramics, a studio named after her beloved grandmother. She specialises in hand-thrown ceramics—creating tea bowls, mugs, vases, serving bowls, and more—each piece fired in either wood-fired or electric kilns to capture unique texture and character.

Originally trained as a photographer, Rachel holds an MFA from the School of Visual Arts in New York. After years working with darkroom techniques, she reconnected with making through clay, where the tactile, slow, and thoughtful process reflects her creative core.

Her work is both beautiful and functional—designed to bring joy, calm, and a sense of peace to everyday life. No two pieces are exactly alike, each shaped by Rachel’s hands and the nuances of kiln fire.
