My Paradise A5 Notebook has had an upgrade! The same colourful , energetic pattern and layout, but now with more pages, page numbers and a new binding, meaning you can effortlessly open it out flat without damaging the spine. 

The Paradise pattern might not be able to transport you to the rainforest, but it can add some colour and energy to your notes with the hand-drawn bird motifs, the colour block design and the movement from the small leaves around them.  

The cover is a sturdy but not heavy 250gsm card, with a lilac on the inside.  The 208 off-white internal pages are 100gsm FSC approved paper - so will hold up against really inky pens including highlighters and fountain pens - and the first one has a monochrome version of the cover with a circle for key information, so there’s no need to get that first-page fear with these notebooks! The rest of the internal pages have light-grey 5mm-spaced dots which mean you can keep your notes straight (if that’s what you want) but they’re not too dark to overwhelm any writing or drawing you might do on the page.  

The binding is lay-flat or OTA-binding if you want the technical term.  It's similar to what is used on music scores so the orchestras music will stay flat whilst they're playing, and the same threads-sewn techniques have been applied to these notebooks, just on a smaller scale. 

These notebooks are printed here in the UK by an family-run independent business which specialises in this technique.  They also ensure sustainability within their processes, are FSC certified and they are carbon balanced printers.

Each notebook comes wrapped with a recycled paper belly band, and in some cases will also be wrapped in a biodegradable cellophane wrap to protect it which makes it a planet-friendly stationery gift too!

FSC stands for Forest Stewardship Council, which promotes responsible forestry and, arguably better than just recycled paper, FSC-Certified paper confirms that the paper used is both recyclable in its own right and has originally come from a sustainable source committed to responsible forestry practices.
