Large (and beautiful) 19th century French green-glazed 'Tian' bowl with a staple repair on the external side, demonstrating it has been well used (and loved) throughout its life (see photos). The Tian bowl is glazed in green earthenware with a simple, hand-crafted form and richly aged finish. The bowl features a wide, gently flared rim and a deep rounded shape, showcasing subtle variations in the green glaze (in which there are a couple of imperfections) that reflect its age and traditional craftsmanship which add to its rich patina.

Tian bowls usually originate from the Provence region of France and are used as a household item to serve food or as a general utility vessel.

We want you to love every piece you choose, but if something’s not quite right, you can return it within 14 days of delivery. Items must be unused, in original condition, and with tags intact.
