Antique wooden grain or dry measure dating back to the 19th century. The measure has a stamp on the front which has the letters 'LF' in a shield above the word Moudon. Inside is also stamped the word Moudon and a cross. There are metal bands around the rim and sides of the measure which create a criss cross design on the bottom. Across the centre is a metal handle on a stand.

Wooden dry measures were common in households and markets for centuries, used to quantify goods such as grains, flour or liquids.

This would make a wonderful container for vegetables in a kitchen or kindling next to a fire. It is in good condition considering its age.
