The HIMIZA Sisal Shopper is a beautifully handwoven, two-tone basket in natural and black, finished with striking black leather carry handles. Made by skilled women artisans in rural eastern Kenya, each bag is woven by hand using locally harvested sisal grass, then carefully dyed to create its distinctive colour blocks.

Generously sized and wonderfully sturdy, it’s perfect as an everyday handbag, a stylish shopping basket, an overnight bag or even a chic gym tote. The sisal is harvested, rolled, dyed and woven entirely by hand, with the khaki base coloured using sand and boiling water over an outdoor fire, making every piece truly unique.

Basket weaving provides an important additional income for the women’s cooperative, supporting families alongside small-scale subsistence farming.

Each maker/brand ships a little differently, but most orders arrive within 3–5 working days in the UK. You’ll receive dispatch emails and some brands offer a tracking link once your parcel is on its way.

We want you to love every piece you choose, but if something’s not quite right, you can return it within 14 days of delivery. Items must be unused, in original condition, and with tags intact.

Yes, absolutely! Many of our brands who have popped up with us now feature on our website. We love it when customers continue to support our brands once they have moved out of the Store at the end of their month.
